Less than an hour away from the Detroit-Windsor border in Canada lies Orora Fresh, a global packaging company who provides plastic and corrugated cardboard packaging solutions around the world. The combination of a need to boost productivity, hiring challenges, and the desire to boost the quality of work for existing employees, inspired Windsor-based integrator AIS Technologies to come up with a system that enables Orora Fresh to achieve these goals. The system deploys 2 IRB 4600 robots, filling the job of stacking the boxes up to the max height allowed in transport vehicles thus avoiding repetitive strain injuries and saving employees from having to reach overhead.
