Endress+Hauser’s Next Generation Dosimag, Dosimass Offer IO-Link Version for Digitalizing Filling Applications
Endress+Hauser’s next generation Dosimag and Dosimass, its OEM specific flowmeters for filling applications, can be ordered with IO-Link connectivity – a world first for this class of liquid measurement instrument.

Endress+Hauser is launching the next generation of Dosimag and Dosimass, its OEM specific flowmeters for filling applications, which now can be ordered with IO-Link connectivity – a world first for this class of liquid measurement instrument.

This new lineup provides best-in-class filling and batching performance, with high precision and repeatability and exceptionally short filling cycles even for the tiniest quantities. The electromagnetic Dosimag provides quick volume measurement of conductive liquids and liquid foodstuffs in filling applications. Dosimass, employing the Coriolis principle, assures fast measurement of mass flow of conductive or non-conductive media.

The new Dosimag and Dosimass offer a choice of three different electronics – classic pulse, integrating batching over Modbus RTU and Intelligent pulse with IO-Link – each delivering their own distinct benefits. Classic pulse is easy and economical. Integrated batching includes Dynamic Drip Correction and allows for integrated advanced filling control. Intelligent pulse with IO-Link provides an even wider range of benefits

As a bidirectional, fieldbus-independent networking system, IO-Link is an effective way to ease into digitalization of filling machines. The Dosimag and Dosimass IO-Link versions are compatible with existing pulse filling flowmeters, allowing migration to take place in stages. IO-Link enables accelerated parametrization change for fast easy commissioning, remote zero-point adjustment, and optimized filling through real-time flow adjustment. From a maintenance perspective, they are plug and play – replacements are automatically parametrized by the IO-Link master on site. The real-time diagnostic data they provide can lead to reduced unplanned downtime and shorter recovery time; overall machine reliability is enhanced.

The new Dosimag and Dosimass feature more compact designs – and in the case of Dosimag, a new lighter-weight, fully welded stainless steel housing that provides better protection against humidity intrusion and is more energy efficient.  Both include temperature measurement, across all nominal diameters (DN) for Dosimass and diameters DN15 and up for Dosimag, eliminating the need for an additional temperature measurement point with either flowmeter. Dosimass boasts a new transmitter and sensor as well as an additional diameter, DN 40, ideal for keg and bag-in-box applications.

Both of these next generation filling flowmeters provide excellent measuring stability regardless of density and viscosity. Both are maintenance-free, with no moving parts, and are fully compliant with most application requirements in the food and beverage and pharmaceutical (cGMP, FDA, etc), chemical, personal care and other life sciences sectors.
