FedDev Ontario invests over $1.5 million for TS Manufacturing Company to enhance production, support local SMEs in the lumber industry and create 10 new jobs

The Government of Canada is committed to investing in homegrown manufacturers and companies that are supporting critical local supply chains, creating jobs and building towards a more resilient economy.

Recently, the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced economic growth and the creation of good jobs through an investment of over $1.5 million, through the Business Scale Up and Productivity stream, for TS Manufacturing Company, a Lindsay-based, family-owned, dynamic ‘one-stop shop’ manufacturer of quality equipment for the forest products industry worldwide.

This investment will allow TS Manufacturing to obtain advanced manufacturing equipment to expand production. This will help the company fill a need in the market by offering automated solutions, such as a first-in-the-world Robotic Lumber Sorter, to small- and medium-sized customers that have been traditionally under-served by equipment manufacturers. This project will also boost local supply chain spending, reduce waste in lumber production and strengthen the regional economy in Lindsay and the Kawartha Lakes. This funding will help bolster the success of the manufacturing industry in the Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough regions and create economic growth for years to come.

TS Manufacturing is a major employer in the region, with more than 100 staff. This project will add an additional 10 skilled jobs.

Strategic investments, like this one, help provide southern Ontario’s manufacturing businesses with the tools they need to scale-up, create good jobs, and seize new opportunities to thrive well into the future.

“We’ve experienced significant growth over the past few years and this funding allows us to scale-up our production capacity to meet demand for our solutions. We are investing in advanced equipment and expanded infrastructure which will create jobs and allow us to produce the highest quality machinery for the sawmill industry.
