Electromechanical Power Relays with ATEX Approval from Carlo Gavazzi

Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of the new CF/CS 30 ATEX Series, completing the CF/CS 30 Electromechanical Power Relays range.

The CF/CS 30 ATEX Series of electromechanical power relays is fully compliant with ATEX (TÜV) and NWFR (UL) certifications, essential for environments where explosive atmospheres may be present due to flammable gases or combustible dust. This series is also strategically suitable for Magnetic Motor Controller applications in Zone-classified hazardous locations, as defined by UL, making it ideal for systems using flammable refrigerants in line with the latest safety standards.

The relay’s housing material meets the stringent GWT 750°C (Glow Wire Test) standard, ensuring superior fire resistance by simulating the risk of fire from overheated electrical components.

Available in CF Fast-on and CS Soldering (PCB) terminal versions, this series supports both AC and DC coil voltages and offers 2 changeover (DPDT) or 2 normally open (DPST) 30A contacts. This makes the CF/CS 30 ATEX Series of electromechancial power relays highly versatile for a wide range of demanding industrial applications.

“The CF/CS 30 ATEX Series expands our current CF/CS 30 offering with a solution that meets the latest regulatory requirements, including increased charge limits and the use of low-GWP refrigerants,” says Matteo Pinciroli, International Product Specialist. “This allows OEMs to adapt their HVACR equipment for use with flammable refrigerants while ensuring maximum reliability and quality in the production process. Being listed in UL’s dedicated category also enhances product visibility and ease of selection for our customers. With this launch, we continue to strengthen Carlo Gavazzi’s portfolio with one of the most reliable Electromechanical Power Relays available on the market.”
