Omron Expands its NXR Series to Include EtherCAT: Simplifying Remote IO Maintenace and IIoT Adoption

Omron announces the launch of the NXR EtherCAT. This innovation solution prioritizes features and functionality to solve labour shortage challenges, save cost, and reduce downtime

Omron Automation Americas, a global leader in industrial automation solutions, launches the NXR EtherCAT, an addition to the existing NXR Series Remote IO portfolio. The NXR EtherCAT offers solutions that simplify remote IO maintenance operations while retaining all the advantages of remote IO, even in challenging industrial environments.

Key Features of the NXR EtherCAT Series:

  • PC-less maintenance: revolutionizing remote IO maintenance and minimizing downtime. Eliminates the need for a trained engineer to be onsite with a PC for maintenance.
  • Automatic IO-Link device configuration with the NXR EtherCAT in Sysmac Studio: OMRON’s software control platform, saves automation engineers considerable time by automatically configuring the IO-Link device’s data and parameters, reducing manual data entry.
  • Port Flexibility: Each port can be fully configured between regular IO and IO-Link, reducing the number of models needed to be implemented and stocked.
  • Significantly reduce cabling and remote paneling costs: Equipped with IP67 protection and M12 quick disconnect cables for easy standardization.
