Ultra-Slim 5mm Plug-in Solid State Relays from Carlo Gavazzi
May 7, 2025

For Loads up to 6 Amps DC or 2 Amps AC
Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, is pleased to present its new RSLS Series of Ultra-Slim Solid State Relays designed for low power DC and AC loads.
The RSLS Series features a 1-pole, ultra-slim 5mm wide design, ideal for low power loads. The compact form factor aligns with industry standards, allowing the RSLS to replace electromechanical relays with the same footprint, offering silent, wear-free, and long-lasting switching solutions that are resistant to vibrations and shocks.
The range includes both AC and DC switching solutions. DC switching models are available in 48 VDC, 100 mA; 24 VDC, 3.5 A and 6 A. AC models are rated for 230 VAC, 2 A. The RSLS Series are controlled via a DC control voltage. These relays can easily be plugged into industry-standard DIN sockets or directly soldered onto a PCB. Pre-assembled options come with either screw or spring terminals on industrial DIN sockets. The RSLS is equipped with reverse input voltage protection, and the RSLSD models offer additional integrated output overvoltage protection.
“The loads controlled by solid state relays in industrial automation equipment vary from very low power (mWatts) to high power (kWatts). These solid state relays are typically mounted in densely populated control panels where space is restricted,” says Dorianne Grech, International Product Manager.
“With the launch of the RSLS Series, we have expanded our portfolio to provide customers with slimmer solid state relays, specifically designed for low-power loads, offering a space-efficient solution without sacrificing performance. Despite its tiny size, the RSLS Series is a fully solid state solution, lasting millions of operational cycles. Its arc-free design makes it ideal for HVAC&R and Food & Beverage applications using A3 (flammable) refrigerants”.
The RSLS Series is suited for low-power loads requiring fast switching and trouble-free operation over numerous switching cycles. Typical applications include programmable controllers, labelling machines, packaging machines, light signal controls, manufacturing equipment, process equipment, vending machines and valves and solenoid control.
